I bought my first piece of hair Chalk from a blow-dry bar (like a salon, but sells mostly blow-dry’s for women coming in with hair already wet to save time and money at the salon) in Colonial Heights, VA over the spring. They had many colors, but I chose my favorite, hot pink.
I’m a blonde, and it looks great with my complexion and hair color. I wore it first at a wedding, with just a few pink highlights. I loved how it evenly distributed itself in my hair by just brushing my hand over my hair.
*This is the pink Chalk from above. It has a special hand application tool that makes it so easy to apply and I don’t get super messy and dirty with this applicator. The cost was $20, which may seem steep, but I have had it for over six months and it looks like I have only used it a few times. Because of the special hand applicator, you don’t waste anything. I would suggest getting this kind of Chalk over any other kinds with applicators and Chalk with non-applicators.
My girlfriend loved the hair Chalk, and found us both a great hair Chalk kit with 24 colors in it from Groupon. Whether you buy your Chalk from Amazon, or a salon, or Walmart, it’s all the same Chalk, but some are better than others. For example, in the 24-piece kit, you must dampen your hair first, and then get the Chalk wet for it to apply to the hair. It’s messy, but I have a lot of fun doing it. And it’s really not that big of a mess, mainly just on my hands. But you still must be careful with your clothes when using chalk that requires you to wetting your hair. Tonight I put a little red (that looks dark pink), light blue, light green, dark green and purple. I did the best applying purple and red.
*The light green in this picture looks almost yellow, and the dark green looks so sharp. The purple was the easiest color to apply, and the red came out looking almost fuschia. Looks fun doesn’t it?
