Look of the Week – March 21st

Look of the Week – Off-the-Shoulders Tops

This week, my favorite look is the off-the-shoulder top or blouse. There’s so many different styles of tops that come off the shoulders that you can wear this style for every occasion. That’s why I like the look so much. Versatility. You can dress up or down your shirt depending on bottoms and shoes. I have gathered cute outfits for work, personal life, going out on a date, and many more. Always be inspired to look your best. It reflects who you are.

Look of the Week – March 13th

Look of the Week – Lip Piercing

Yup! It’s back! The lip ring has made its, I don’t know, second, maybe third comeback since the 90’s. But now it’s the middle of the lower lip that has every trend setter wanting this look. From the one and only, scandalous Kim Kardashian shows us how she flaunts hers.

I’m not sure how I feel about another lip piercing coming back as a trend, but at least with this look, you can get a fake cuff and put it on your lip to look like a real one. And I do like trends I can take off easily, and this sure would be one. Check out these sexy lips all pierced different ways on the middle of the lower lip. Are you a trend setter? Or follower? Just be on trend!

Kids of Bipolar or Schizophrenic Parents More Likely to Face Early Mental Health Issues

Kids of Bipolar or Schizophrenic Parents More Likely to Face Early Mental Health Issues

This is a wonderful article I found and had to share it with you, my readers. It deals with something I always think about, passing the bipolar gene to your child. It’s not something I’m willing to do, but for those who do decide to have kids, good for you and good luck, with all sincerity. I cannot imagine seeing someone that I made hurt so deeply because of this disease, so that is why my husband and I have choosen to stay child-free. But to each their own. I’m going to highlight the article’s main points, but be sure to read the whole article to really understand.

“New research shows that children born to one or both parents with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder are more likely to suffer mental health problems by the age of seven.”

“Presented at the International Early Psychosis Association (IEPA) meeting in Milan, Italy, in October 2016, the Danish High Risk and Resilience Study — VIA 7 — included 522 children who were seven at the start of the study.”

“Of the children, 202 were born to at least one person diagnosed with schizophrenia (located using Danish registries), while 120 of them were born to least one parent diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The remaining 200 children were born to parents without any of these diagnoses.”

“The results show children born to parents with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder score higher than the other children using a tool called the child behavior checklist (CBCL). This is a widely used questionnaire with more than 100 questions given to parents and teachers that describes behavioral problems or signs of possible illness, the researchers said, explaining a higher score represents more problems.”

Sample CBCL:

“Mean scores for children in the schizophrenia group were 27.2, the bipolar group 23.5, and control group 17.1.”

“There were also marked differences between the three groups concerning psychopathology, neurocognition, motor functioning and their home environment, according to the study’s findings.”

“Children born to parents with schizophrenia, and to a minor extent also bipolar disorder, were found to have increased risk for problems such as anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and stress/adjustment disorder, and were also more likely to display neurocognitive problems or delays. They also were more likely to grow up in families with a lower social status and a higher risk of adverse life events, according to the researchers.”

“She noted the researchers plan to follow the children until age 11, conducting a new assessment before puberty.”

““We do not know if the impaired children will catch up in neurocognitive areas or if their mental problems will be in remission, but since social aspects and environmental factors contribute significantly to child development — and they were quite marked already at age seven years — we are expecting similar or even worse results could be seen at age 11 years,” she said.”

Virgo Essential Oil Blend – March

Virgo Essential Oil Blend – March

I have been using Essential Oils for years now, and with that experience, I have created my favorite blend, which is made perfectly for Virgo’s. Virgo born people are hard workers, which in turn makes them very stressed out. They are positive most of the time, so uplifting scents are a big part of this special Virgo blend, made by me. It was developed throughout a year of trying out different scents to see which ones most affected me. If you are a Virgo, and you enjoy essential oils, this Blend will calm you down, keep your spirits up, and make you feel good.

1. Frankincense

2. Patchouli

3. Tangerine

4. Ylang Ylang

5. Orange

I found this “Virgo” Blend of essential oils online and knew I must share! It’s already made so those of you who don’t have all the ingredients listed above, Thai might be a great choice.

Fairytale Makeup

Fairytale Makeup

These makeup jobs are some of the best fairytale looks a person could do! These eyes, lips, cheeks, and faces are all unique and oh so beautiful! Wouldn’t you say? The first picture below blew my mind with the color chosen to be used for that look. It was an intense color, yet was subtly put on, matching the hair. The second picture struck me as gorgeous due to the way this makeup job was done. I love the pink color streaming down the middle of the nose and in the eyebrows. It’s so pretty! And the sequins under the eyes are muchly needed to make the make up pop. The third picture captured my heart with the almost periwinkle color on her hair, face, cheeks, eyes, and lips. Periwinkle is my favorite color, so I’m probably biased to love anything that color. I won’t go on about the rest, you decide what is the prettiest look.

Essential Oils for Pain

Essential Oils for Pain

I’m a big time advocate for alternative help when it comes to pain. I have chronic back from tumbling as a gymnast and cheerleader. My back went out on me when I was just 17. Many years later, I struggle with chronic pain. I have medication, but I don’t want to use it if I don’t have to. I enjoy using essential oils to help alleviate my pain. If you are in pain, there is an essential oil that can help!

Here is a list of essential oil’s for different types of pain, for varying pain such as: bone pain, circulation, inflammation, muscles, ligaments, and viruses

Young Living is the best Essential Oils carrier in the business! I love their oils so much more than other brands because of the ingredients it’s made from, and the concentration is much higher than other brands, leaving you needing to use less drops, thus saving you money. Not to mention their scents, I’ve always felt like their scents were much stronger than other brands that I have tried before. It is a little bit more expensive of an essential oils line, but for all of the reasons I listed above. Below is a pain Cream created by Young Living. I am going to try it after I purchase Valor, that is the only Oil I don’t have from the list.
