16 Ways Exercise Makes You a Happier Person

Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang

*A starting definition: Yin / Yang : Two halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yang are also the starting point for change. When something is whole, by definition it is unchanging and complete. So when you split something into two halves – yin / yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. This starts both halves chasing after each other as they seek a new balance with each other.
“The principle of Yin and Yang is a fundamental concept in Chinese philosophy and culture in general dating from the third century BCE or even earlier. This principle is that all things exist as inseparable and contradictory opposites, for example female-male, dark-light and old-young. The two opposites attract and complement each other and, as their symbol illustrates, each side has at its core an element of the other (represented by the small dots). Neither pole is superior to the other and, as an increase in one brings a corresponding decrease in the other, a correct balance between the two poles must be reached in order to achieve harmony.”

“The concept of yin and yang became popular with the work of the Chinese school of Yinyang which studied philosophy and cosmology in the 3rd century BCE. The principal proponent of the theory was the cosmologist Zou Yan (or Tsou Yen) who believed that life went through five phases (wuxing) – fire, water, metal, wood, earth – which continuously interchanged according to the principle of yin and yang.”

“Yin is feminine, black, dark, north, water (transformation), passive, moon (weakness and the goddess Changxi), earth, cold, old, even numbers, valleys, poor, soft, and provides spirit to all things. Yin reaches it’s height of influence with the winter solstice. Yin may also be represented by the tiger, the colour orange and a broken line in the trigrams of the I Ching (or Book of Changes).”

“Yang is masculine, white, light, south, fire (creativity), active, sun (strength and the god Xihe), heaven, warm, young, odd numbers, mountains, rich, hard, and provides form to all things. Yang reaches it’s height of influence with the summer solstice. Yang may also be represented by the dragon, the colour blue and a solid line trigram.”

“In Chinese mythology yin and yang were born from chaos when the universe was first created and they are believed to exist in harmony at the centre of the Earth. During the creation, their achievement of balance in the cosmic egg allowed for the birth of Pangu (or P’an ku), the first human. In addition, the first gods Fuxi, Nuwa and Shennong were born from yin and yang. In Chinese religion, the Taoists favour yin whilst Confucianists favour yang in keeping with the prime focus of their respective philosophies. The Taoists emphasize reclusion whilst Confucianists believe in the importance of engagement in life.”

“As expressed in the I Ching, the ever-changing relationship between the two poles is responsible for the constant flux of the universe and life in general. When there is too great an imbalance between yin and yang, catastrophes can occur such as floods, droughts and plagues.”

I am the author of this blog, petitegirlsguide, and it started out as a blog about girl stuff, but I soon started writing about bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses. I always try to write uplifting, positive messages and help teach others how to become aware of mental illnesses by advocating. I write this blog by myself, going on 7 years now. I know it could be a lot bigger and I want to get it there. I want my blog to be a main source of bipolar help information. I have been suffering with bipolar for over 10 years now, and I’m doing so much better today than I was a few years ago. I have been through so much on my journey to becoming fully integrated into my bipolar and doing excellent with my health. But I still struggle like every other sufferer of bipolar and all the illnesses I stand up for. One of my bipolar flaws is it has not allowed me to hold down a job (full-time) for many, many years now. I have solely been supported by my husband all this time. My circadian rhythm is very off, always has been, and it’s getting to be very hard for me to stay awake for a full 8-hours without needing some kind of time for closing my eyes. It is embarrassing and hard to deal with. I struggle with insomnia too, so factor that in. I also have ADHD, which I think helps me concentrate and put me in a good head space to be able to write. But there are just as many cons to having ADHD with my bipolar disorder.

If you donate to my blog, you will be helping out a woman with a Public Relations degree from UF, all before being diagnosed bipolar. I now struggle to keep work, and blogging to help others keeps me motivated.

Twin-Flame Relationship

Twin-Flame Relationship

My husband and I met in the 3rd grade. We dated in 8th grade, and started dating in college, and close to 10 years later, we’re married and going on 8 years of marriage. I remember playing the game “freeze tag” in elementary school, and I also remember being the fastest girl at my school. The first time Bryan, my husband, took notice of me when I was in the 3rd grade on the playground. Bryan liked me because I was the fastest girl and he couldn’t catch me. I guess that’s why I don’t remember him from 3rd grade… I was running and looking straight forward. We went to the same elementary, middle and high school. We dated for about 4 months when we were 14, and the school voted in our superlative’s that we were the “best couple”. I felt so proud and have always felt extra close to my husband. We’ve always, since college, had an amazing connection between each other. So close of a connection that we finish each other’s sentences before we start talking. He knows exactly what I’m doing, what I’m up to, just by looking at me. I do the same with him. We are soulmates and I am 100% sure of it. Soulmates don’t just come around for everyone, so we know just how important it is to love one another for eternity. It feels so good to be so open to someone. I share everything with my husband. And same goes for him. We enjoy each other’s company so well, we can enjoy ourselves on a Friday or Saturday night with just each other, no company. All because we love being around each other. We both are athletic. So exercising together is one hobby of ours. We are also very creative, and also have ADHD, so when we feel in the creative mood, we can create some amazing art together. I know that Bryan and I are twin flames because it is told that twin flames are stronger than soulmates, and I know how rare a couple like me and Bryan are. Just read a little about twin flames and see how their relationships go farther than any other.

“Throughout the course of your life you may have had unusual or powerful dreams, visions, or fantasies of a mysterious person. You get a particular feeling and the energy of the individual feels familiar, as if it is someone you have already met in the past or someone you will meet in some unknown future. You have a vague feeling that this person is real even if you can not see a face or invent their physical appearance in your mind. You have a feeling as if this person is ‘out there somewhere’ and may even know who you are on the same level.”

“There may be an unusual synchronicity or event that surround the initial meeting between first flames. Often you have a feeling or ‘knowing’ of something that you just can’t quite put into words. Twinflames often encounter each other for the first time (whether in person or online) in an unusual way. The twinflame comes into our life in an unexpected way out of the blue and usually there are synchonicities and strange occurances or major shifts in energy the same week of the initial meeting.”

“Most twinflame couples are physically at a distance or live in different countries. Often there is something that prevents the twinflames from being physically together in the beginning. This is usually because there is much energetic work to be done on the mental and emotional levels before the physical meeting can occur. If the physical meeting were to occur too soon the energy can often be too intense.”

“The relationship is immediate, as though no time had been lost since you were last together. You feel comfortable with them and you feel you can truly be yourself with them. Sometimes conversation seem to last forever and there is not much that twinflames are not willing to talk about. It’s as if you could share your entire life with this person and there is a level of openness and understanding between you that brings a comfortable yet intruiguing sense of familiarity.”

“You feel an overwhelming sense of love and attraction. This love is genuine and heartfelt and you feel magnetically drawn to their energy. This is not to be confused with lust or an obsessive love. Twinflame love is unconditional and transcends the ego. If you have found your twinflame it does not mean that the relationship will necessarily be free from issues or personal conflict. There may still be lessons and healing that must take place between the twin souls. Twinflames are still human beings on the physical level.”

“You feel a sense of completion that goes beyond words. This feeling is about wholeness on a soul level that is beyond the physical. Each twinflame is still an individual and is not ‘the other half of your soul’ as if you are a complete soul now that you have found them. You are meeting an energetic mirror of your own soul. You share a vibration and you resonate with them. You even feel an attraction to the sound of their voice and it may even sound familiar to you.”

Emil JarfeltThere’s this moment we have as children. It’s usually when we’re being told to do something we don’t want to, like chores or adhering to a strict bedtime. Or maybe it’s when we see a babysitter or some cool, older adult that seems to have it all. No rules! They’re in charge of their…

Why Police Shootings are State-Sanctioned Violence — TheReporterandTheGirlMINUSTheSuperMan!

What is the rationale that an “armed and dangerous” ISIS-inspired terrorist gets to live, see his family, and do all the things that a law-abiding father of four will never get to do? For the record, I am glad that Ahmad Rahami received treatment and was treated with dignity as each human deserves. But why weren’t any of these men too?

September Equinox

September Equinox

There are 2 equinoxes every year – in September and March – when the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal.

“Seasons are opposite on either side of the Equator, so the equinox in September is also known as the Autumnal (fall) equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.”

“The September equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above Earth’s Equator – from north to south. This happens either on September 22, 23, or 24 every year.”

“Earth’s axis is tilted at an angle of about 23.4° in relation to the ecliptic, the imaginary plane created by Earth’s path around the Sun.”

“On any other day of the year, either the southern hemisphere or the Northern Hemisphere tilts a little towards the Sun. But on the 2 equinoxes, the tilt of Earth’s axis is perpendicular to the Sun’s rays, like the illustrations show.”

*Why “Equinox”?

“On the equinox, night and day are nearly exactly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world. This is the reason it’s called an “equinox”, derived from Latin, meaning “equal night”. However, even if this is widely accepted, it isn’t entirely true. In reality equinoxes don’t have exactly 12 hours of daylight.”
