Look of the Week – December 30th

Look of the Week – Faux Fur

So, as you’ve probably already noticed, faux fur is trending pretty hard this winter. Any style will do, from a faux fur vest, to a faux fur scarf, to faux fur coats (mostly seen). Everyone is wearing them in every color and pattern around. There are long, short, oversized coats for all to be able to rock whatever style you crave! Also, the faux fur is very warm and will keep you feeling the same. The faux fur is so soft, and it’s 100% animal cruelty free. You can feel good about that. Here are my favorite picks of faux fur used in different colors, and styles. I hope this inspires you to get a piece of faux fur this winter.

*Everything you see is faux fur, no real fur shown

Fall Nail Guide

Fall Nail Guide

The colors of fall are much darker, deeper and richer colors too. These fall nails are enticing, sophisticated and sexy. These are some tips for fall and it’s strict nail color blend.

Now that you know what shades are appropriate for fall/winter, don’t forget to shape your nail. It’s not so much how you shape your nails that matter, just that you did them.

Full “Hunters” Moon Tonight – October 15th

Full “Hunters” Moon Tonight – October 15th

“What makes a Hunter’s Moon special? Nature is particularly cooperative around the time of the autumn equinox to make the fall full moonrises unique.”

“Here’s what happens. On average, the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day. But when a full moon happens close to the autumnal equinox – either a Harvest or a Hunter’s Moon – the moon (at mid-temperate latitudes) rises only about 30 to 35 minutes later daily for several days before and after the full moon. The reason is that the ecliptic – or the moon’s orbital path – makes a narrow angle with the evening horizon around the time of the autumn equinox.”

“The result is that there’s a shorter-than-usual lag time between successive moonrises around the full Hunter’s Moon.”

“These early evening moonrises are what make every Hunter’s Moon special. Every full moon rises around sunset. After the full Hunter’s Moon, you’ll see the moon ascending in the east relatively soon after sunset for a few days in a row at northerly latitudes.”

Fashion – Coming up Crystals and Roses

Fashion – Coming up Crystals and Roses

I love the rich colors this fall brings us, especially the dusty pink. It’s nice to see a toned-down pink, it’s been years. Dresses covered in crystals and roses are so beautifully designed. The extravagant detail is worth the high sticker price when looking to purchase pieces that look like the ones shown. Notice how each color from the coloring box has been used for each of these dresses. Although  I am biased, because I like pink the most.
