5 Signs Summer Is Over

Thought Catalog

I know, you never wanted or expected it to happen, but let’s just face it: all good things must come to an end. Your free time is increasingly becoming more free. If you’re experiencing any of the following, it might be time to pack up the bikini and the towel for the season. In the words of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, “you’ve maximized your tan.”

1. All your friends have already left for or returned to college. If you find yourself suddenly alone and without a friend to grab Starbucks with, chances are that they are already lugging their textbook stuffed backpack around their college campus and dragging themselves through the gnarliest welcome week hangover of all time. You may already find yourself resenting them and their drunken collegiate escapades while you’re wasting away in your house or apartment watching (hopefully good) syndicated television.

2. You begin to…

What is PR, Really? Please Discuss…

What Public Relations IS:
““As public relations practice continues in the 21st century there is a growing sense that it needs better theory to provide a foundation and sustenance for public relations practice. Theory is not something abstract, remote from real-world — dare we say it — ‘academic’.”

“Having good theoretical underpinnings to what you do provides firm foundations for your day-to-day activity. It enables you to say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ quicker to whatever challenge you face. Good theory provides clarity and purpose to your mission.”

Is An Image Still Worth 1,000 Words?

Presenting Yourself

” Just suppose that you began your next talk with the grabber, “Imagine yourself relaxing on the beach without a care in the world.” Do you think that image would get the attention of people in the audience? With most people working 24/7, who wouldn’t want to be relaxing on a beach?”

A Miracle called Love

The Fickle Heartbeat

Frankly speaking,
this thing you and I call love is nothing short of a miracle.

The moment when we met each other,
looked into each other’s eyes,
our brilliant minds intertwined,
and began to love every inch of each other’s soul and body is a perpetual memory I relive everyday.

I sometimes wonder how the word “we” became to define you and me. We could’ve so easily grazed each other by, become nothing more than a friendly stranger, and moved on to make another lovely soul to be happy or miserable.

But the world we live in is a funny, funny place.

Because in that moment of brevity,
Isn’t it amazing how we stopped at each other a little longer,
how our hearts beat a second faster, and now we make something so ordinary as everyday to be a miracle called love?

8 Signs That He’s A Jerk

Thought Catalog

Michele Paccione / ( Michele Paccione / (

We’ve all had our fair share of jerks, but what happens when you get too involved with someone to just simply let them go? I can think of a million people who have been down this road before (including myself), and I want to prevent people from getting too infatuated with the wrong guy. Here are eight of the biggest red flags.

1. He says he wants to be with you, but he doesn’t want to make it public.

This is the biggest red flag of them all. As much as you want to believe that he wants his privacy with you, what he’s really saying is that he’s either embarrassed by you or is talking to multiple other girls. These are the words of a liar. Wait for actions that show you he’s the real deal, and if he won’t budge, walk away.
