Read This If You’re Terrified Of Growing Up — Thought Catalog

Emil JarfeltThere’s this moment we have as children. It’s usually when we’re being told to do something we don’t want to, like chores or adhering to a strict bedtime. Or maybe it’s when we see a babysitter or some cool, older adult that seems to have it all. No rules! They’re in charge of their…

A Life Without You -Poetry

This is one of the shortest poems that I have read, that captured a lovers feelings with such a small amount of words. I hope you enjoy this short poem. Reboot if you feel this way about someone.

“A Life Without You”

8 Ways Emotionally Intelligent People Deal With Toxic People

How to Deal With Toxic People
“Life is stressful enough for most of us. Allowing a toxic individual to ravage your immediate environment can cause havoc in your mental well-being, which can lead to physical challenges.”

“A bad state of mind not only affects your physical well-being but makes it difficult for you to respond calmly under pressure. Ninety percent of top performers are skilled at managing their emotions, so your ability to perform effectively can be affected if you do not adopt strategies that will allow you to deal with toxic people.”
1. Successful People Establish Boundaries

“There is a fine line between being friendly and allowing somebody to lead you down a path that jeopardizes your ability to remain effective. Successful people understand this and do not allow the toxic among them to take charge, but rather choose to set effective boundaries.”

2. No One Limits Their Joy

“How much do the words of those around you affect your state of mind? Successful people have mastered the ability to ensure that the negative remarks of others do not affect their strong sense of accomplishment. Toxic people like to break you down with rude, hurtful comments, and gain satisfaction from watching you fall apart.”

“Learn to react less to the opinions of others, especially those you know do not have your well-being at heart.”

3. They Have Mastered the Art of Rising Above

“By mastering the act of rising above, successful people are able to remain rational and calm in the presence of the irrational and chaotic. They master rising above the rest, no matter what the circumstance.”

4. They Are Solution Focused

“Do you spend more time focused on the negative person and how they affect your life than on achieving your goals? If so, then you have a problem. Instead of focusing on the negative, focus on your goals.”

5. They Understand the Importance of Support

“Reach out to your mentors, chances are, they have experienced what you are going through. There is a good chance that co-workers, team members, even family and friends have useful tips to help you get by. The emotionally intelligent understand how to tap into their resources to get through the challenges of working with toxic people.”

6. They Are Aware

“Self-awareness is important, because it involves knowing what it takes to push your buttons in order to prevent it from happening. Lack of emotional control is a great way to empower the toxic people in your life.”
7. Forget-Me-Nots

“Being forgiving comes with being emotionally intelligent. It allows you to remain unburdened by the mistakes of others and to have peace of mind. But being forgiving does not mean forgetting whom you can and cannot trust. It just means you stop wasting mental energy on those you cannot trust.”
8. They Store Their Energy for Better Opportunities

“As I have mentioned several times, the toxic thrive on chaos, and will do anything to have the ability to take you down to their level. Learning to understand your limits will help you to stay away from dangerous situations. Choose your battles wisely, and conserve your energy for bigger and better things.”

My Blessing In Life

I love My Husband

“Every morning I wake up and see,
The most handsome man lying next to me.
He’s the one I cherish and love,
A blessing sent from Heaven above.
I will love him as a faithful wife should,
And do everything for him I could.
I would let him know every day,
That I love him more than words can say.
It will keep our love for each other strong,
And the Lord will guide us away from all wrong.”

16 Things About Life You Know Deep Down To Be True

When To Hug Someone: Life’s Greatest Mystery

You Monsters Are People.

Knowing when to hug someone is a question that has plagued humanity since its very inception. Confounded cave-people deduced how to trap and eat their monkey brethren right away but would have to wait thousands of years before even the most basic hugging etiquette could be established. Misplaced hugs have torn apart families, ruined lives and even caused wars (probably World War I). Despite thousands of years of struggling with hug protocol, scientists have yet to unlock its deepest most powerful mysteries.

There was a period in my life where I had friends and then hugged them until we were all so tired from embracing that we had to take lengthy naps. They were like platonic orgies. It was a perfect world where everything made sense and nobody felt bad about themselves or each other. We drank, talked and warmly embraced each other deep into the morning hours. Through perseverance and…

The Nexus of Science and Soul: Forming a Life Narrative After Mental Illness

Life After Mental Illness

“I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.” Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis.”

“To have experienced delusions, psychosis, and suicidal ideation is to be Undermined by one’s self. There is a nauseous strangeness to the experience, a fracturing of identity that seems beyond comprehension and elucidation. “

“How does one piece apart one’s identity?”…

How Not to Let Stress Ruin Your Sex Life

SexandStress Photo Via Fox News Magazine

For many people, once the stress shows, the sex goes. In fact, stress is the number one reason that couples stop having sex.

And this can wreak havoc on your relationship.

“[Stress] can cause major rifts in relationships, from low tolerance for your partner’s behaviors to massive arguments when physical and emotional needs aren’t being met,” says author and stress management speaker Kristen Brown.

Not sure if stress is to blame for your loss of libido? Check your symptoms:

Feeling extra irritable? You may find yourself shorter with your significant other and less able to rely on the relationship for comfort, says sex therapist Dr. Tammy Nelson. It may seem like every little thing your partner does has a huge impact on your attitude, causing the both of you to argue.

Can’t get turned on? “When women are stressed, their oxytocin levels are…

Really love this. You can download it from soundcloud and there is a whole playlist from the artist here.

little life-bound friend what can I speak
Your mind is tied in gravity as deep as the ocean
My little life-bound friend, what can I say
There’s so much more, there’s
So much more…

My little life-bound friend, where have you gone?
And who set you down? And do you remember from where you were born?
This little life-bound body that you keep
was never yours, was never yours…

This little life-bound speaking way of speech
but can you tell me, can you tell me what you dream about…
My little life-bound friend, what can I say?
There’s so much more, there’s so much more,
so much more…

It’s tough being a Virgo.

True, so true!

Life & all its Frustrations

It’s been a while since i posted and i guess that’s a good thing in a way… Nothing to anger or rant about for a change! Life has been travelling relatively smoothly… Hilton and I have worked things out and we are stronger and happier than ever. I am however, currently searching for a new job after being messed around by my ex-employers. So anyone in the Brisbane CBD area that knows if anything going, hit me up!

Now, I’m not a particularly spiritual person… But if there is one thing I believe in its that being a Virgo sucks.

I have just recently been reading my horoscope traits and have discovered that Virgo’s have it tough. Not only are we constantly battling with ourselves to ensure we reach our high expectations (that WE set OURSELVES) but we are also known for coming off as cold, emotionally unattached, fussy and…
