Fairytale Makeup

Fairytale Makeup

These makeup jobs are some of the best fairytale looks a person could do! These eyes, lips, cheeks, and faces are all unique and oh so beautiful! Wouldn’t you say? The first picture below blew my mind with the color chosen to be used for that look. It was an intense color, yet was subtly put on, matching the hair. The second picture struck me as gorgeous due to the way this makeup job was done. I love the pink color streaming down the middle of the nose and in the eyebrows. It’s so pretty! And the sequins under the eyes are muchly needed to make the make up pop. The third picture captured my heart with the almost periwinkle color on her hair, face, cheeks, eyes, and lips. Periwinkle is my favorite color, so I’m probably biased to love anything that color. I won’t go on about the rest, you decide what is the prettiest look.

Valentine’s Lipcolor

Valentine’s Lipcolor

This spring has been the season of dude lips. Maybelline has 10 shades of nudes that, surely one will look great on you. I love Maybelline because they’re a great makeup line at such an affordable cost. I wear 915 “Blushing Beige”, due to my fair complexion. It looks like I’m not wearing any lipstick, yet it makes my lip color so much prettier.

On Valentine’s Day, make sure you glam yourself up with some great shave butter for your legs and other places, a great CC cream or foundation for your face, and a great lipstick color to make your lips look delicious!

You can buy any of these lipsticks at any CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and so many other places. They usually run me about $6. Pretty cheap for good lipstick. It really does have lasting power, as long you put on a good first & second coat. It feels good when you’re in style and with the latest trends. Doesn’t it? It does to me. Try out a nude color on your lips if you never have before. I’m telling you, you will like it. And my husband loves the color because he says he can “kiss me” without getting color all over him. Just another reason why nude shades are here to stay.

Millennial Women Want More Green Beauty Products

Millennial Women Want More Green Beauty Products

I believe today’s young women are very concerned with where their beauty products come from, now more than ever. This Allure article takes a look at how women are demanding for more “green” products, and explanations of ingredients. This is smart! Continue to read to find out more.

“Take one look at Sephora, Ulta, and even Target’s beauty offerings, and you’re bound to find brands boasting products touted as “organic,” “natural,” and “green.” Over the years, green beauty has been on the up and up, with an influx of lesser-known brands making it to mainstream beauty stores, and, according to a recent survey, it’s because women are demanding it.”

“A Harris Poll survey found that 59 percent of women over the age of 35 believe buying green beauty is important to them, while an even larger percentage—73 to be exact—of millennial women seek out cleaner, all-natural products.”

““We anecdotally thought there was a lot of interest for green beauty, especially with the millennial age group, but there wasn’t anything to point to,” Kari Gran, the administrator of the survey and founder of her own eponymous organic cosmetics and skin-care line, tells Allure. So Gran set out to support her theory. The questionnaire, which was her second-annual Green Beauty Barometer, asked 1,126 women across the country, aged 18 and older, to “measure their attitudes and purchase behaviors toward all-natural beauty products.” And the results were loud and clear: Young women want cleaner, greener beauty.”

““I think millennial women have a really great aptitude for technology—they’ve been raised with it—and have had a lot of exposure to information,” says Gran. “So if you think about millennials now and when [green beauty] started to really resonate for people, like 10 or so years ago, it’s just been something that has been spoken of, like food, like organic and non-GMO food.””

“Fittingly so, in recent years, beauty retailers have begun to see a shift in sales, as the demand for cleaner, organic products becomes more apparent.”

“Credo Beauty, a natural beauty space that got its start online in 2015 and has since opened two stand-alone stores in San Francisco and New York City, realizes the need for green cosmetics and skin care, especially among younger people. “Credo is in communities and that brings with it moms and daughters shopping together—so a really diverse age range and demographic—but the concentrated population is 20 to 45 years old, says Annie Jackson, Credo’s vice president of merchandising and planning. “The millennial age group has grown up with the Internet,” says Jackson. “They are curious, and love to research and understand ingredients and what they do: Who the founder is, where they are from, does their passion and perspectives align? Our total focus is ingredient and brand education with our staff for that very reason. They need to know more than the customer that has done their research, so our staff can be an additional resource to them.”

“Even mainstream shops that aren’t typically touted as holistic brick and mortars, like Bluemercury, have noticed customers’ shift in interests.”

Fall 2016 Makeup Trends

Fall 2016 Makeup Trends

The trends in 2016 have definitely been bold choices. New color palates and big bold eyes and lips from makeup. 2016 really did some game changing when it comes to makeup looks. Eyes are much more crazy, but beautifully put on, with daring colors. Shady eye looks with lots of eye liner and shadow are being seen everywhere.

“The finishing touch to any ensemble is the way you draw up your visage. The colors you use, the lines you make or the lack of it all can make or break a look accordingly. Just like an artist on her canvas, you must look at your eyes, lips, contours, cheekbones and even neckline to create your own masterpiece. No matter what the final product is expected to be, your makeup will be the one thing other than your clothing itself that stands out the most. As such, we have taken it upon ourselves to check out the top fall/ winter 2016-2017 makeup trends for you, considering that the colder seasons show off too little skin and the majority of color will most probably fall on your face.”

“Since 2016 is all about individuality and a unique character, as well as blending in the androgynous look to some effect, that is more or less what we expected out of the fall 2016 beauty trends as well. Which is your favorite look to emulate this fall?”

#1: The Truly Red Lips

“Okay, this is a classic. It is also one of the top fall 2016 makeup trends, having dominated for the spring and doing no less for the fall and winter seasons. It is lovely beyond belief, with brighter and darker shades taking to the stage, but always staying nice and cherry. It appears that red lipstick is here to stay so you can definitely invest in a few tubes of awesome color.”

“We see the bright red lips dominate on whiter skinned models actually, but that does not mean that your ethnic background should prevent you from taking on this trend. Proenza Schouler ensures it is just about the only color on the visage, which makes for a striking look, something Cushnie et Ochs is also a major fan of. The red lips are definitely a good enough statement on their own.”

#2: The Gothic Lips

“Take a trip to the dark side this fall with lips that tell a story that belongs to underground. It can be as dark as black or merely a perfect plum, it can be paired with no other colors to the face or have incredibly nightmarish appeals. It can look pretty or downright out of a horror story. It matters not really. The Goth is in when it comes to the fall/ winter 2016-2017 makeup trends and you can wear it as softly or as fanatically as you wish.”

“Marc Jacobs went for truly Gothic, all black lips and strange liners with brows bleached out, while Rodarte and Nicholas K were quite content with bringing in the pretty, keeping brows thinner but natural and just plain focusing on the purple hued lips. The Gothic lips are simply divine and definitely a top trend contender, with Gigi Hadid bringing in the sexy while stomping down the Fenty x Puma runway by Rihanna and sporting the matte-black pout. The best, though, we would say are the rouge-noir lips that some of the other designer houses brought forth.”

#3: Pastel and Bright Pink Lips

“You know those soft, pretty and pink pouts little children have? The lips of innocence really that have not been affected by the colorings of life as a whole. This is in style to keep to the barely there appeals, with youthful stains to the pouts coming out on stage with feathered edges and coquettish effects ready to seduce one through inspiring the natural inclination to go for the ladies that are left untouched… the virgins, per se.”

“Tanya Taylor, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Banana Republic are only a few labels that have utilized one of the prettiest fall 2016 makeup trends in terms of lipstick to really bring out the youthfulness in their models. Gorgeous baby lips appear at Chanel while paired with some graphic eye shadow in order to almost upset the balance of the features and redirect the gaze constantly. A sugary baby pink color on the Miu Miu lips ensures the eyes focus more on the brows on these ladies that are all well-groomed yet nice and thick.”

#4: No Color Added Lips

“Sometimes there is nothing added, sometimes, it is just a touch of lip gloss. No matter what, this trend keeps things as natural as they come when it comes to the lips and there is nothing lovelier than that. You see a fresh face with the clear lips at Valentino, a slightly chapped loop to the pout at Balmain, and pale pink rose petal lips at the evanescent Elie Saab Fashion Week show.”
