Trends to try:
MIDI SKIRT WITH CROPPPED TOP
Forget the mini and the maxi, midi skirts are the only length worth wearing. The most effortless way to rock a midi skirt is to choose one in a bold color and allow it to break up your look.
Skirts can be tricky. Don’t have the legs for a mini? Can’t stand maxi’s? This fall, the midi silhouette is really making its mark.
The trend has been trying to infiltrate the fashion world for a while now, but now it’s really catching on and since fall is coming up, you should definitely add a midi to your wardroom! It may seem more 1950’s than today, but it’s an easy, breezy way to stay cool while looking super chic.
Best worn with heels and a crop top. The miniskirt it’s right below the knees and it’s not too tight. The high-low proportion makes for a flattering & elongagating combination, and works well with all body types.
If you choose a printed midi, break up your look with neutral separates and accent your outfit with complementing accessories like a neck scarf and clutch. While balance in prints and color is important, avoid veering too feminine by countering with edgy touches. A leather moto jacket and studded clutch make for the perfect additions.
A flouncy midi skirt is a feminine statement piece, so let yourself feel girlie and wear a strand of pearls or bow-adorned heels. Now that’s how you really own a trend.
If you opt for a striped midi, vertical lines are always the most flattering as they give off the illusion of a longer line.
- Who says your midi skirt has to flare out? If you’re petite, a more fitted style with a leg slit might do you justice. Find one in a fun print and let it take center stage by completing your outfit with neutral accoutrements.
- On the other hand, loose, flowy silhouettes can be superflattering too. If you need to add a little structure, a fedora with a straight brim or edgy leather wedge boots will strike the right balance.
