Look of the Week – Off-the-Shoulders Tops

This week, my favorite look is the off-the-shoulder top or blouse. There’s so many different styles of tops that come off the shoulders that you can wear this style for every occasion. That’s why I like the look so much. Versatility. You can dress up or down your shirt depending on bottoms and shoes. I have gathered cute outfits for work, personal life, going out on a date, and many more. Always be inspired to look your best. It reflects who you are.

Look of the Week – Lip Piercing

Yup! It’s back! The lip ring has made its, I don’t know, second, maybe third comeback since the 90’s. But now it’s the middle of the lower lip that has every trend setter wanting this look. From the one and only, scandalous Kim Kardashian shows us how she flaunts hers.

I’m not sure how I feel about another lip piercing coming back as a trend, but at least with this look, you can get a fake cuff and put it on your lip to look like a real one. And I do like trends I can take off easily, and this sure would be one. Check out these sexy lips all pierced different ways on the middle of the lower lip. Are you a trend setter? Or follower? Just be on trend!

Look of the Week

Look of the Week – Leather Skirts and Pants

Leather equals rock, most of the time. But today, everyone is rocking their leather and faux leather pants, and skirts like there’s no tomorrow! I love the look,  and have added leather pieces to my own wardrobe since last fall. I am wearing them more and more. The more I wear them, the more comfortable they get. Just don’t get stuck wearing those tight leather ensembles without A/C! That will be one sticky situation. You may want to keep some talcum powder with you if you do sweat a lot. It’s just a good idea to have it with you. I have found outfits, complete from head to toe for examples of some great leather looks. But only after you check out pictures of people rocking their leather goods on the streets.

Look of the Week – February 14th

Look of the Week – Valentine’s Outfit: Whimsical Skirt

I love this outfit so much! The whole ensemble goes so well together. The black and white striped bodycon top is perfectly form fitting on this model. The whimsical red skirt is the highlight of the outfit. It brings together the look of love! Worn with black stiletto pumps, with bow ties around the ankle. So adorable. If you love this Valentine’s look, reblog or like it! Thanks

Look of the Week: Cont. – Celebs in Faux Leather Pants

Look of the Week: Cont. – Celebs in Faux Leather Pants

As you can see, my Look of the Week – Black Faux Leather Pants has everyone wearing them! Especially celebrities. You can see Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Kristen Cavaleri, Beyoncé and Kylie Jenner for example. They all rock this hot, sexy trend that goes with everything, trust me! You can wear this look all winter/spring long.

Look of the Week – January 30th

Look of the Week – Black Faux/Leather Pants

It doesn’t matter to me if you like real versus faux, when it comes to your leather pants. But you have got to get yourself a pair of them now. I wear faux leather and it is so comfortable to wear, and it also keeps me warm and insulated. I am a ver naturally cold person, but when I wear my faux leather pants, I feel so much better, and am happier, just from the pants making me warm. The black, tight leather look is slimming on your body. You can’t deny that. Everyone looks great in a pair, and the stretchier the better, in my book that is. I hope you like these pictures of people wearing both real and faux leather pants. Majority are faux. Can you spot the real ones? There’s only a few.

Look of the Week – January 23rd 2017

Look of the Week – Zuhair Murad Spring 2017

Zuhair Murad is an excellent designer, and the look of the Week is this gorgeous dusty rose pink dress with extravagant detail’s everywhere. And the amount of bling on this outfit is crazy hot! Now check out some of Murad’s designs from Spring 2017.

Look of the Week – December 30th

Look of the Week – Faux Fur

So, as you’ve probably already noticed, faux fur is trending pretty hard this winter. Any style will do, from a faux fur vest, to a faux fur scarf, to faux fur coats (mostly seen). Everyone is wearing them in every color and pattern around. There are long, short, oversized coats for all to be able to rock whatever style you crave! Also, the faux fur is very warm and will keep you feeling the same. The faux fur is so soft, and it’s 100% animal cruelty free. You can feel good about that. Here are my favorite picks of faux fur used in different colors, and styles. I hope this inspires you to get a piece of faux fur this winter.

*Everything you see is faux fur, no real fur shown

OCD Awareness Week

OCD Awareness Week- October 9-15, 2016

Ok, so I found out about OCD Awareness Week, a little late. But I still feel like I needed to share it with everyone. I am OCD myself, so I am an advocate for all those who suffer from this disorder. Mine is not bad, I just clean a lot, and keep an immaculately clean house. But I am totally under control with my OCD, thank goodness.

“Did you know that 1 in 100 adults likely have OCD? And up to 1 in 200 children? That’s a half a million children in the US alone. OCD can be a debilitating disorder, but there is treatment that can help. Unfortunately, it can take up to 14–17 years from the first onset of symptoms for people to get access to effective treatment, due to obstacles such as stigma and a lack of awareness about mental health, and OCD in particular. Learn more about OCD here.”

“OCD Awareness Week is an international effort to raise awareness and understanding about obsessive compulsive disorder and related disorders, with the goal of helping more people to get timely access to appropriate and effective treatment. Launched in 2009 by the IOCDF, OCD Awareness Week is now celebrated by a number of organizations across the US and around the world, with events such as OCD screening days, lectures, conferences, fundraisers, online Q&As, and more.”

Look of the Week – Button-Up Skirts

This week’s look is highly trending and easy to find to buy. That is, if you don’t have one already. These fashionable skirts show off your waistline and give you a skinny look with it’s A-Line design. I love them in the burgundy and raspberry colors. You can match pretty much any top with these button-up skirts. They’re so versatile. You can make them look casual or dress the outfit up with a beautiful top. However you wear it, just know you’re in style.

Look of the Week – October 7th

Look of the Week – Aztec Sweaters

Aztec sweaters are being seen everywhere, and it’s the perfect time of the year for one. I love the bold colors and jagged lines used in the sweaters. You won’t find any curved lines in these Aztec sweaters. They have a harder feel to them due to the straight lines used throughout. I found some cool outfits that incorporate Aztec sweaters in them, as well as, some really cool Aztec sweater looks.

Mental Health Awareness Week – October 2-8

Mental Health Awareness Week – October 2-8

Being bipolar myself, I can say that this weeks very important to me. I have become a huge advocate over the last few years about mental illnesses, especially bipolar disorder. I blog about it frequently and try to get the word out to all of my friends and family about how we must be aware of how many Americans are affected by some sort of mental illness. And not only must we know, but we also must be educated, so that you can spot the signs of someone who might be hurting or worse. Suicide prevention is real, and too many times, the signs were there and no one knew what to look for. And depression and anxiety are also forms of mental illnesses too. Please pledge today that you will become closer to your community and learn what you need to know about mental illnesses and how we can all help each other.

  • Mental Illness Awareness Week
  • Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition.

“During the first full week of October, NAMI and participants across the country are raising awareness of mental illness. Each year we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for equal care. Each year, the movement grows stronger.”

“During Mental Illness Awareness Week on Oct. 2-8, join NAMI in shining a light on mental illness and replacing stigma with hope by taking the #StigmaFree pledge at”

“To help spread the word, NAMI’s #MIAW pages provide a variety of resources to download, such as flyers, posters and social media graphics. Our resource toolkit contains press releases and other templates to customize within your communities.”

“We believe that mental health issues are important to address year-round, but highlighting them during #MIAW provides a time for people to come together and display the passion and strength of those working to improve the lives of the tens of millions of Americans affected by mental illness.”

“If you or someone you know may need a mental health assessment, anonymous online tools are available. For National Depression Screening Day on Oct. 6, you can get a free mental health screening at”

Look of the Week – Zippers!!!

I see zippers everywhere, this fall is dying for zippers to be apart of the fall fashion trend. There are two-piece, zip-up outfits, and zip-up dresses, but more than that, there are zippers used a lot more than you might think. I love how this fall’s colors have changed and gotten much more rich and darker. Look at these items that show off zippers all over your wardrobe. Get inspired and decide where you would wear zippers? On your shoe? On your jacket?

And the most expensive zipper…. LOL

Monday’s Meaning + More about the Week

Monday’s Meaning + More about the Week

Why do people hate Monday’s so much? I know I am one of those people who believe Monday’s should be part of the weekend, or optional at work. It may sound crazy, but at least I know I’m not the only person who feels this way. What about all those sayings about Monday? Seems like majority of people hate Monday’s. So I wanted to know some more information about the day, and this what I enjoyed reading most about the day that Garfield is most famous for hating!

“Monday is the day of the week between Sunday and Tuesday. According to the traditional Christian, Islamic and Hebrew calendars, it is the second day of the week, and according to international standard ISO 8601 it is the first day of the week. In the West, it is the first day of the work week, whereas in most Muslim countries and Israel, it is the second day of the work week. The name of Monday is derived from Old English Mōnandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means “moon day”.”

More About Monday:

  • Given Name: MONDAY
  • GENDER: Feminine
  • USAGE: English (Rare)
  • PRONOUNCED: MUN-day [key]

Meaning & History:

“From the English word for the day of the week, which was derived from Old English mona “moon” and dæg “day”. This was formerly given to girls born on Monday.”

What do the Names of the Week Mean?

“An answer to this question is necessarily closely linked to the language in question. Whereas most languages use the same names for the months (with a few Slavonic languages as notable exceptions), there is great variety in names that various languages use for the days of the week. A few examples will be given here.”

  • Except for the sabbath, Jews simply number their week days.
  • A related method is partially used in Portuguese and Russian:
  • English Portuguese Russian Meaning of Russian name
  1. Monday segunda-feira ponedelnik After “do-nothing”
  2. Tuesday terça-feira vtornik Second
  3. Wednesday quarta-feira sreda Middle
  4. Thursday quinta-feira chetverg Fourth
  5. Friday sexta-feira pyatnitsa Fifth
  6. Saturday sabado subbota Sabbath
  7. Sunday domingo voskresenye Resurrection

“Most Latin-based languages connect each day of the week with one of the seven “planets” of the ancient times: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. French, for example, uses:”

  • English French “Planet”
  1. Monday lundi Moon
  2. Tuesday mardi Mars
  3. Wednesday mercredi Mercury
  4. Thursday jeudi Jupiter
  5. Friday vendredi Venus
  6. Saturday samedi Saturn
  7. Sunday dimanche (Sun)

“The link with the sun has been broken in French, but Sunday was called dies solis (day of the sun) in Latin.”

“It is interesting to note that also some Asiatic languages (for example, Hindi, Japanese, and Korean) have a similar relationship between the week days and the planets.”

“English has retained the original planets in the names for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. For the four other days, however, the names of Anglo-Saxon or Nordic gods have replaced the Roman gods that gave name to the planets. Thus, Tuesday is named after Tiw, Wednesday is named after Woden, Thursday is named after Thor, and Friday is named after Freya.”

Look of the Week – Turtlenecks

So I’ve been noticing more and more around town and in magazines, how turtlenecks have come back being ultra-trendy. The colors set for this fall’s fashion trends are very dark and but also filled with color, just not neons any more. Not saying neon is out, just that this fall is very different than what has been seen for a while now. Doesn’t matter what size you wear. Whether it’s a big and loose turtleneck or a small and tight one, you can’t go wrong! Here’s some great examples of how to wear this fall’s colors on your turtleneck.

Look of the Week – September 17th

Look of the Week – Floral Rompers, Jumpsuits

Rompers are the easiest outfits to wear and they’re so comfy. I love them so much, I can’t stop buying them. But the trend I keep seeing, both long and short sleeved, are floral rompers and jumpsuits. I have collected the best of the best examples of what’s hot and trendy right now!

Seriously, though, what is really better than a romper on a late summer day? They’re incredibly easy to wear, and require very little maintenance. By that I mean, you can literally wear a romper and no other clothes and be set. I love it!

Look of the Week -September 11th

Look of the Week

This weeks Look of the Week is a teal and white striped dress, perfect for any day. This color is what I am focusing on this week. Other looks that I have picked out have a mint or teal color. All of the items are perfect for wearing right now. It’s been the hottest color all year, and its continuing into fall. I hope you enjoy the other looks that go with the Look of the Week.

The fall look that rocks every year, will always be an adorable scarf. And oversized scarves, like blanket-sized scarves are becoming more and more trendy. And more people are wearing them all year, especially now. Check out the best looks with scarves I found for inspiration for yourself! After, are instructions to help you learn to fold different scarf looks!

Look of the Week – August 26th

Shoulderless Rompers/Shirts/Dresses

This blue and white print, shoulderless dress, is what is happening! If you haven’t caught the bug for one of these dresses or tops yet, hopefully you will after seeing these great pictures of inspiration. Paired with strappy sandals, this look is so easy and very comfortable. What more could you ask for? Below are more great ideas of how to rock this look. So do well!

Look of the Week: Feb. 8th – Hers

Sweet, Comfy & Soring. Those are the three words that come to mind when I look at this weeks trending look.

The beautiful model sports skinny jeans with cut-outs in the knees, which are very popular right now.

  • Check out Charlotte Russe’s jeans right now: they have so many different pairs to choose from and their prices beat Abercrombie, buckle, and other stores by over half the cost. Give it a shot!

Back to the outfit, along with the jeans, a bright white top is worn underneath an oversized, tie-dyed cardigan. The cardigan has beautiful colors of purple, blue and green to give you a calm, relaxing feeling. The model sports bracelets and other accessories that all coordinate with the bright colors and gold. The light brown clutch is paired with criss-cross ankle wedges, and the soft browns give an earthy feel.

Look of the Week -Hers

Trends to try:

Forget the mini and the maxi, midi skirts are the only length worth wearing. The most effortless way to rock a midi skirt is to choose one in a bold color and allow it to break up your look.

Skirts can be tricky. Don’t have the legs for a mini? Can’t stand maxi’s? This fall, the midi silhouette is really making its mark.

The trend has been trying to infiltrate the fashion world for a while now, but now it’s really catching on and since fall is coming up, you should definitely add a midi to your wardroom! It may seem more 1950’s than today, but it’s an easy, breezy way to stay cool while looking super chic.

Best worn with heels and a crop top. The miniskirt it’s right below the knees and it’s not too tight. The high-low proportion makes for a flattering & elongagating combination, and works well with all body types.

If you choose a printed midi, break up your look with neutral separates and accent your outfit with complementing accessories like a neck scarf and clutch. While balance in prints and color is important, avoid veering too feminine by countering with edgy touches. A leather moto jacket and studded clutch make for the perfect additions.

A flouncy midi skirt is a feminine statement piece, so let yourself feel girlie and wear a strand of pearls or bow-adorned heels. Now that’s how you really own a trend.

If you opt for a striped midi, vertical lines are always the most flattering as they give off the illusion of a longer line.

  • Who says your midi skirt has to flare out? If you’re petite, a more fitted style with a leg slit might do you justice. Find one in a fun print and let it take center stage by completing your outfit with neutral accoutrements.
  • On the other hand, loose, flowy silhouettes can be superflattering too. If you need to add a little structure, a fedora with a straight brim or edgy leather wedge boots will strike the right balance.

Take a look at these other pairings of midis skirts with crop tops. These outfits already have all the right accessories picked out. How much easier can it be to get inspiration??

Stay classic with this 3-piece suit for this fall. This brown blazer gets a pop of color added to it by adding a red pocket square. His lighter-shade of brown vest makes him look oh so dapper! And finally, his button-up shirt has to the top button un-buttoned. What a great printed shirt he’s rocking! it has a splash of brown, but is pulled together with the shades of blue throughout the shirt. He’s sporting a nice brown belt to tie in the brown theme, and matches his blazer quite nicely. His jeans are a darker shade, and look so nice for Fall Fashion. This outfit would be great for just about any occassion. From a date, to a casual business meeting, this outfit looks comfortable and quite warm, too. Now, just add some matching brown shoes to tie the whole outfit together, and you have got one look that will have women turning their head. And don’t forget what’s under his outfit is just as important! You know, his boxers, or boxer-briefs, whatever fits you best! And let me suggest the best new line of men’s underwear is Tommy John. Haven’t heard of them yet? Well, check out their site  today and pick up a new pair of boxers of briefs for yourself or your man. What a great way to stay in style and also give a great gift. Even if it’s to yourself. You deserve it!

Johnston & Murphy - ‘J. Murphy’ Cap Toe “Novick Brown”:

One Handsome Man!!!

***I have recently found a new men’s underwear company that’s hot, sexy, and so well-fitting. It’s called Tommy John. My husband swears by their square cut briefs. They are similar to a trunk, but shorter cut leg, with a 2″ inseam, just like the ones shown below.

Look of the Week -Hers

Is your wardrobe having déjà vu? With fashion’s ever-revolving door, trends we thought we would never see again, that we put in the back of our closet, are coming back! The last time I remember flannel being big was that Kurt Cobain era. “Grunge” was what it was called. Now it’s a “hot” item again! Whether you wear it buttoned-up, around your waist, or as a coat, you can’t resist this comfortable, and colorful trend. So hop on board!

Look of the Week

This Look of the Week is all about the crop-top! It’s an amazing way to show off your stomach and show off that sexy body of yours! Now I know most of you might be timid to try a crop top outfit, but give them a chance, try them out, you might just be surprised at how well-fitted it is. The long black skirt with white horizontal stripes Will make petit figures appear even skinnier than they already are! This crop top outfit is a great example of why you should buy one today!

Look of the Week

This weeks Look of the Week emphasizes the color teal. It is shown all throughout the outfit in all different garments. Teal and grey striped sweater is paired with a grey tank top and jeans. Pistachio-colored ballet flats do a great job of flashing a little bit of color at the bottom of the outfit. The matching teal-colored heart bracelet is so adorable! Just grab your gray bag and some silver earnings, and you’ve got yourself an outfit.

Look of the Week

I chose the sweater dress & tall boots combo, for this weeks “Look of the Week.” I’ve been wearing my sweater dresses as much as I can because they are so adorable on my petite frame, and I know you will feel the same if you give this look a chance! I love my long-sleeved sweater dress the most, and adding a pair of shin-high, or even knee-high boots will keep you super warm on cold days. Petite figures are sometimes (let’s face it, all the time) hard to shop for. But it’s not hard if you know what your body’s best features are. I think that elongating the torso on a petite woman is the best & easiest way to look slim. Also, the tight dress will slow you to appear much more lean. Baggy clothing is a NO! NO! As winter approaches, you are going to get bored of the same-old, same-old, and that’s why these sweater dresses are a go-to for me. Whether I’m in a hurry or just want to look adorable, this outfit will keep me looking sharp and, sexy and stylish. What else could you ask for?

Look of the Week

The look of the week, this week, is a pretty pink skirt, navy blue button-up, tailored shirt, with matching hat and belt. I chose this look this week because it is one that is soft, lovely, timeless. The baby pink skirt is high-waisted and pleated all around. The pleats are soft and elegant, so I guess they’re today’s updated version of the “uptight” pleats. The soft pink compliments the navy blue, quite well. It is a very muted pink, so it’s perfect for fall. The belt is really nifty, with it’s design on the front, and exact match to the skirt and hat. The hat is a trilby hat, with a pink bow wrapped around the top of the hat, again, giving that “soft” feel to the look. The model’s shoes are black and white peep-toe heels, but there are so many options of shoe color that would look smashing! From tan, camel, off-white, navy, and more… I’m sure this outfit is an easy look to pull off! It just takes a nicely-fitted shirt, flowy skirt, matching accessories, and you’ve got my Look of the Week! Don’t forget the hat! It’s what makes the outfit POP!

Don’t forget to wear your hair down, with lots of soft, curly locks. This is crucial for pulling off this look as “soft”, instead of just another skirt and shirt outfit. It’s all in the details! Accessorize til your heart is content!

Mental Illness Awareness Week

Awareness Week!

Mental Illness Awareness Week, Oct. 5-11, 2014

“In 1990, the U.S. Congress established the first full week of October as Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) in recognition of NAMI’s efforts to raise mental illness awareness. Since then, mental health advocates across the country have joined with others in their communities to sponsor activities, large or small, for public education about mental illness.”

“MIAW coincides with the National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding (Oct. 7) and National Depression Screening Day (Oct. 9.)”

“Why is MIAW important?:

Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. During the first full week of October, NAMI and participants across the country are bringing awareness to mental illness. Each year we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for equal care. Each year, the movement grows stronger.

We believe that these issues are important to address year round, but highlighting these issues during Mental Illness Awareness Week provides a time for people to come together and display the passion and strength of those working to improve the lives of the tens of millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

If you or someone you know may need a mental health assessment, anonymous online tools are available. Learn more and help yourself or someone you care about.

NAMI thanks Forest Laboratories, LLC., a subsidiary of Actavis, for being the National Sponsor of Mental Illness Awareness Week.”

Did Kendall Jenner Get Bullied During Fashion Week?

Kendall Jenner Bullied at Fashion Week?

“An unfortunate report in the new issue of In Touch Weekly (via The Daily Mail) alleges that Kendall Jenner was bullied by some of her fellow catwalking waifs during New York Fashion Week earlier this month. Despite Kendall’s many proclamations that she hasn’t received special treatment—she says she’s even had to work harder to overcome “her name”—an apparent Fashion Week insider told InTouch that other models “didn’t think it was fair that she was there.””
