The first picture below blew my mind with the color chosen to be used for that look. It was an intense color, yet was subtly put on, matching the hair. The second picture struck me as gorgeous due to the way this makeup job was done. I love the pink color streaming down the middle of the nose and in the eyebrows. It’s so pretty! And the sequins under the eyes are muchly needed to make the make up pop. The third picture captured my heart with the almost periwinkle color on her hair, face, cheeks, eyes, and lips. I’m not sure how I feel about another lip piercing coming back as a trend, but at least with this look, you can get a fake cuff and put it on your lip to look like a real one. This is a wonderful article I found and had to share it with you, my readers. It deals with something I always think about, passing the bipolar gene to your child. It’s not something I’m willing to do, but for those who do decide to have kids, good for you and good luck, with all sincerity. I cannot imagine seeing someone that I made hurt so deeply because of this disease, so that is why my husband and I have choosen to stay child-free. But to each their own. I’m going to highlight the article’s main points, but be sure to read the whole article to really understand. 


“New research shows that children born to one or both parents with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder are more likely to suffer mental health problems by the age of seven.”


“Presented at the International Early Psychosis Association (IEPA) meeting in Milan, Italy, in October 2016, the Danish High Risk and Resilience Study — VIA 7 — included 522 children who were seven at the start of the study.”

“Of the children, 202 were born to at least one person diagnosed with schizophrenia (located using Danish registries), while 120 of them were born to least one parent diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The remaining 200 children were born to parents without any of these diagnoses.”


“The results show children born to parents with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder score higher than the other children using a tool called the child behavior checklist (CBCL). This is a widely used questionnaire with more than 100 questions given to parents and teachers that describes behavioral problems or signs of possible illness, the researchers said, explaining a higher score represents more problems.”

“She noted the researchers plan to follow the children until age 11, conducting a new assessment before puberty.”

““We do not know if the impaired children will catch up in neurocognitive areas or if their mental problems will be in remission, but since social aspects and environmental factors contribute significantly to child development — and they were quite marked already at age seven years — we are expecting similar or even worse results could be seen at age 11 years,” she said.”

Cellulite, also known as gynoid lipodystrophy, is an aesthetic condition where fat deposits are visible underneath the skin, giving a dimpled effect. It can show up in any location, but the legs and bottom are most notable. Cellulite occurs in over 80% of the female population, with much fewer occurrences in men.

There are a number of different factors that cause cellulite. Excess estrogen, caused by hormonal imbalances or excess weight, can be a factor in cellulite production. Stress also plays a huge roll in the development of cellulite.

Holy cow, these little Jello shots look and taste so incredible! I made them last night and had them today. The flavor of the Bailey’s is so delicious and the texture of the Jello shots remind me of my being a kid, or actually more like college. I found this recipe and had to share it with my readers. If they look too good to be true, then make a bunch and see for yourself!


“These cute little Baileys Irish Cream Jello Shots are so much fun! Not only do they combine caffeine and booze for that perfect pick-me-up-yet-slow-me-down feeling, they taste delightful with a thin espresso layer on the bottom and a solid Baileys Irish Cream gelatin above.”

“Top them with a little dollop of fresh whipped cream and you have a 21 and over treat all your friends will adore.”


Making the Jello Shots:

  1. Start by whisking hot espresso (or coffee) with 2 packets of unflavored gelatin and a little sugar. You can buy unflavored gelatin in the baking aisle at the market, or next to the flavored Jello.
  2. Pour the coffee gelatin into a plastic lined baking dish and chill.
  3. Next heat a portion of the Baileys Irish Cream. Don’t boil it; just get it hot enough to dissolve the gelatin. 
  4. Whisk 3 packets of gelatin into the hot Baileys making sure there are no clumps. 
  5. Then whisk in the remaining bottle of Irish Cream. Pour the Irish Cream gelatin over the firm coffee gelatin and chill.
  6. Once both layers are firm, either cut the Baileys Irish Cream Jello Shots into squares, or use a small cookie cutter to cut out circles.

The old saying, “3 square meals a day” is old and done with. But how often should we eat anyways? Everyone should know what hours are most appropriate for you to eat your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. If you’re not sure when is the right time for each meal, this chart will show you exactly what you need to know. It also indicates what foods are best with that particular hour. 


Do you know just how many or how little calories you should consume at each meal? Well neither did I until I read this daily calorie intake chart. It is based on a 1,200 calories diet, not 2,000 calories. So make any necessary changes if you intake more than 1,200 calories per day.

Leather equals rock, most of the time. But today, everyone is rocking their leather and faux leather pants, and skirts like there’s no tomorrow! I love the look,  and have added leather pieces to my own wardrobe since last fall. I am wearing them more and more. The more I wear them, the more comfortable they get. Just don’t get stuck wearing those tight leather ensembles without A/C! That will be one sticky situation. You may want to keep some talcum powder with you if you do sweat a lot. It’s just a good idea to have it with you. I have found outfits, complete from head to toe for examples of some great leather looks. But only after you check out pictures of people rocking their leather goods on the streets.

I’m going to see Sleeping Beauty tonight at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, FL. Show starts at 7pm, but my husband and I will be there promptly at 6. I just love the ballet, and the Russian Ballet is one of the most talented and disciplined ballet’s in the world. And I have tickets! My husband is more than just a trooper, he enjoys the show himself, too. I’m so greatful for that. Most men would complain or just would not take their women to see ballets, operas or Broadway shows. I’m about to start getting ready…. I will post pictures tomorrow

I’ve heard of people taking medications, and having other issues resolved, issues that the drug was not originally  intended to help. I am bipolar, so I can’t take anti-depressants or else I will get rapid cycling and become manic. It not a pretty picture. And I had to learn the hard way, which was by having a horrible doctor, who somehow “Specialized” in bipolar, put me on anti-depressants and I became a crazy person. It took a while for changes to occur, but once I started having rapid-cycling, I was no longer myself. I decided I wasn’t going to take it anymore, so I saw a new doctor, one who has saved my life and made me whole again. By getting me on bipolar medications, such as Abilify, I have regained my sanity and once again I feel like I am contributing to society by being able to work. After being diagnosed, it took close to 10 years to feel like my old self. Luckily, I have not had an episode in close to two years now. But I do know what it feels like to have your medications begin to work better than they normally do, and that always makes you question if everything’s ok, and if you’re actually alright. This article is hope for those taking anti-depressants and think they need more, this might be it.

“The eight-week study enrolled bipolar adults, aged 18 to 65, who were in the depressive phase of their disease and had not benefitted from an antidepressant. (Bipolar disorder is marked by alternating periods of elation and depression, with depression typically lasting longer.) Patients were randomly assigned to receive the antidepressant escitalopram (Lexapro®) plus celecoxib or Lexapro plus a placebo.”

“Seventy-eight percent of the patients in the celecoxib group experienced at least a 50 percent reduction in their depression scores, with 63 percent reporting their depression had gone away completely. By comparison, only 45 percent of the placebo group recorded a 50 percent or more reduction in depression, with only 10 percent reporting their depression had lifted completely.”

“It typically takes four to six weeks before an antidepressant begins working. In the Loyola study, patients who took celecoxib began seeing a benefit from their antidepressant within a week. Fifty-five patients completed the study: 31 in the Lexapro plus celecoxib group and 24 in the Lexapro plus placebo group.”

“Previous studies have found that depression revs up the immune system, resulting in chronic inflammation. This inflammatory response affects the normal balance of chemical messengers in the brain called neurotransmitters. Inflammation hinders the function of antidepressants that are designed to restore normal chemical balance. By fighting inflammation, celecoxib appears to make antidepressants more effective, Dr. Halaris said.”


“Celecoxib is used to treat pain, redness, swelling and inflammation from arthritis. It also can manage acute pain and menstrual cramps. By itself, it does not treat depression.”

“The study’s findings support the hypothesis that inflammation plays a critical role in depression. Reducing inflammation with a drug such as celecoxib “reverses treatment resistance and enhances overall antidepressant response,” Dr. Halaris wrote in the study. “Such an intervention, if implemented relatively early in the course of the disease, may arrest the neuroprogressive course of bipolar disorder.””

“So why does the Jello glow? Quinine (an ingredient in tonic water) is a fluorescent substance. These substances absorb ultraviolet light and then re-emit it. The light emitted has a longer wavelength than the one absorbed which makes the light visible and causes quinine to glow. When you substitute tonic water for regular tap water when making the Jello, it adds the quinine which adds the glow. It is better to use light-colored Jello for maximum glow.”


Step 1:

You will need the following:

  • *Jello (light-colored Jello such as Lemon or Lime will work best for this project)
  • *16oz of tonic water
  • *Stove
  • *Liquid measuring cup
  • *Small pot for boiling water
  • *Mixing bowl
  • *Mixing spoon
  • *Refrigerator
  • *Small Table Lamp with fluorescent blacklight (The blacklight must be fluorescent and not simply a colored bulb. It can be purchased at most Wal-Mart locations for around $4.00)

STEP 2: MEASURE OUT TONIC WATER

  • Measure out 8oz (1 cup) of tonic water in a liquid measuring cup.

STEP 3: POUR TONIC WATER INTO POT

  • Pour tonic water into pot.

STEP 4: TURN STOVE BURNER ON HIGH

  • Put pot on burner and turn on high.

STEP 5: POUR JELLO PACKET INTO MIXING BOWL

  • While water is boiling, pour Jello packet into mixing bowl.

STEP 6: POUR BOILING WATER INTO MIXING BOWL

  • Once water has boiled, pour the boiling tonic water into mixing bowl.

STEP 7: STIR UNTIL DISSOLVED

  • Stir together Jello and boiling tonic water, making sure that the Jello powder fully dissolves.

STEP 8: ADD COLD WATER

  • Add one cup of cold tap water to the mixing bowl.
  • Alternate method: If you would like your Jello to glow more brightly, add one cup of cold tonic water instead of tap water. However, doing this will make the Jello taste more bitter than normal.

STEP 9: CHILL IN FRIDGE

  • Place the mixing bowl in the fridge and chill for four hours.

STEP 10: REMOVE AND TEST WITH BLACKLIGHT

Drink #1: Tickled Pink Cocktail

$$ Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 6 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
  • 6 tablespoons pineapple juice
  • 6 tablespoons Malibu Rum or other coconut flavored rum
  • 1 tablespoon grenadine
  • 1 (750 mililiter) bottle chilled Champagne

Instruction: 

Place first 5 ingredients in cocktail shaker. Shake 15 seconds, then strain cocktail into 6 Champagne glasses, divide equally. Divide Champagne among glasses and serve.

Tickled Pink Cocktail


Drink #2: Blow Pop Martini 

$$ Ingredients:

  • 16 pieces bubblegum, preferably Double Bubble, cut in half
  • 2 cups (16 ounces) vodka
  • 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) freshly squeezed lemon juice (from ½ lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) freshly squeezed lime juice (from ½ lime)
  • 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) simple syrup
  • 1/2 egg white* or 1 tablespoon pasteurized liquid egg whites (optional)
  • 1 cup ice
  • *The egg white in this recipe is not cooked. If there is a problem with salmonella in your area omit the egg white or use pasteurized egg whites.

Instruction:

In large airtight container, combine bubblegum and vodka. Seal and allow to infuse, stirring every 6 hours, for 24 hours. Pour vodka through fine mesh strainer, discarding bubble gum.

In cocktail shaker, stir together 2 ounces bubblegum-infused vodka, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and egg white if using. Add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

Blow Pop Martini


Drink #3: Very Sexy Martini

$$$ Ingredients:

  • 3 Raspberries
  • 5 Mint leaves
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
  • 1.5 oz Premium citrus vodka
  • 1.5 oz Moët & Chandon Rosé Imperial Champagne

Instruction:

  1. In a shaker, muddle the raspberries and mint.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients except the Champagne and fill with ice.
  3. Shake, and strain into a Martini glass.
  4. Top with the Champagne and garnish with a mint spring and a raspberry.

It’s a gel that’s injected into a guy’s vas deferens, otherwise known as the tube the sperm swim through to get to the egg. As I mentioned in this piece, it’s like football — the gel is the defense to the aggressive sperm trying to score. (Pun intended.) Seminal fluids will still be released, but no sperm. (No sperm!) The sperm are too big to get through the gel and, instead, they’re reabsorbed into the body. What will science think of next?!”

There are some crazy ass makeup artists out there, or at least crazy imagination is being taken place everywhere. I see lips with crystals on them. I see lips with many shades of color on them, and I see many lips with neon colors. I like have searched through thousands of lipstick jobs and here are the absolute coolest. Enjoy!

This spring has been the season of dude lips. Maybelline has 10 shades of nudes that, surely one will look great on you. I love Maybelline because they’re a great makeup line at such an affordable cost. I wear 915 “Blushing Beige”, due to my fair complexion. It looks like I’m not wearing any lipstick, yet it makes my lip color so much prettier. 

On Valentine’s Day, make sure you glam yourself up with some great shave butter for your legs and other places, a great CC cream or foundation for your face, and a great lipstick color to make your lips look delicious!


You can buy any of these lipsticks at any CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and so many other places. They usually run me about $6. Pretty cheap for good lipstick. It really does have lasting power, as long you put on a good first & second coat. It feels good when you’re in style and with the latest trends. Doesn’t it? It does to me. Try out a nude color on your lips if you never have before. I’m telling you, you will like it. And my husband loves the color because he says he can “kiss me” without getting color all over him. Just another reason why nude shades are here to stay.

Choker of all colors and styles are trending and will continue to throughout the year. I wanted the look of the Week to be about black chokers, and not all chokers. There are too many different styles, colors, materials and more to go through and pick just one, because they’re all amazing, so I’m sticking with black. I see that majority of chokers sold are black. Chokers are so affordable too. They can range from $2-$30 on average. I hope you are inspired to try out a choker, and those of you from the 90’s, if you are done with chokers, I completely understand. But if you are one of those girls or guys from the age when chokers were from, please leave me a comment telling me how you feel about the trend being back and everywhere?
